Veterans have sacrificed so much to make our lives better and safer. Trout Lake Nature Center (TLNC) will be hosting a nature hike as a tribute to veterans followed by a presentation on Saturday, April 29 beginning at 9 AM.
These events are part of the City of Eustis’ Moving Wall Vietnam Veterans Memorial activities.
Although the Moving Wall is for Vietnam veterans, TLNC will be honoring ALL veterans. Veterans, family member and just plain folks (young and old) who want to honor veterans are encouraged to come to TLNC to “take a breath of nature”.
At the conclusion of the walk, a presentation will be given in the Education Building about the value of nature for our health and well-being.
Please, join us for the walk or presentation as a way to honor the military men and women of our country and their families.
Dress comfortably and wear close-toed shoes. You might want to bring a walking stick, camera or binoculars to enhance your hike. This quiet contemplative hike will allow you to reflect on life, make new friends, renew old acquaintances and create new memories as you smell the scent of the woods, enjoy the colors of wildflowers, hear the noises of birds and animals or see the flash of a bird or watch an alligator float by.
Participants should be prepared to begin the hike at 9AM and the hike will start from the portico of the Education Building. The presentation will begin at 10 AM. For more information, email firstname.lastname@example.org or call 352.357.7536.
