FNN: Delving into Freshwater Fisheries

June 17 @ 6:30 pm - 7:30 pm

Who doesn’t love to fish? Most people do and Lake County is known for great fishing. This presentation will focus on fish —their habits and habitats and how to protect these systems.

Kyle Miller, Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission (FWC) biological scientist, works in the FWC Eustis Field Laboratory on long term monitoring to establish trends in fish and plant communities statewide and locally on the Harris Chain of Lakes. In addition, the FWC field lab studies aquatic habitats and plants, fish and non-fish species such as waterfowl, alligators, wading birds and manatees. Miller will provide insight into this work too. And if asked, might share some of the better fishing spots in our area.
