The art of storytelling through words and music has been a traditional form of entertainment across cultures. It can also be a way of informing and educating in a compelling way. Trout Lake Nature Center’s Friday Night Naturalist program on May 20 will feature storyteller Chris Kastle as she presents “Turtles and Gators and Spoonbills, Oh My!”  This tour of our waterways with stories and songs is suitable for all ages and will begin at 6:30 PM.
Kastle is an award winning storyteller, singer, songsmith, author, artist, poet and educator specializing in teaching environmental science through the arts. She is a recipient of the Annette J. Bruce Lifetime Achievement Award from the Florida Storytelling Association, has a number of recordings and publications to her credit and holds a graduate degree in Human Ecology.
The Trout Lake Nature Center is located at 520 East CR 44, Eustis. Friday Night Naturalist programs are held monthly on the third Friday. These programs are donation-based with $5 suggested to support this independent non-profit’s future programs. For further information, email Laurie Peterson at [email protected] or call 352-357-7536.
